Stroud Club of the Year 2026 Presentation – Chalford Sports & Social Club

The Chalford Sports & Social Club is Stroud CAMRA Club of the Year for the sixth year running. We will be presenting Ali and Rob Brady with a certificate recording their triumph at the Chalford Sports & Social Club, Highfield Way, France Lynch, Chalford Hill GL6 8LZ at 2:30pm on Sunday 29 March. A light buffet will be provided.
Rob Brady runs the Good Beer Company, a leading local wholesaler, so an imaginative selection of beers is a given.

Beer and skittles
The club boasts a skittle alley that will be available for our use. Bring or wear appropriate footwear if you would like to play.
West Country Skittles is one of the distinctive features of pubs (and clubs) in the southwest of England and south Wales. And it is an endangered species. Any pub closure is to be regretted, but it is always especially saddening when it involves the loss of a skittle alley—as with the closure of Shunters in Stroud or the Kites Nest at Lightpill on the Bath Road, where the skittle alley has now disappeared under a terrace of new houses.
Do come along and raise a glass to Ali, Rob and the team to celebrate the club’s win.
