Members who have opted in to the e-mail communications from the branch should have received an e-mail explaining the current situation. Below is presented an abridged version:
Last Autumn as I am sure that you are aware CAMRA reorganised the national areas along county lines.
[The main issue:] the Gloucestershire Branch does not [geographically] represent the whole of Gloucestershire. There was a meeting held on 17th May to discuss the way forward and the following was agreed.
The Gloucestershire branch would have a new name and the Sub Branches would become areas, although they will continue to operate as now.The first step is to agree a new name for the Branch, the Chairs of the Branches and Sub Branches will suggest up to five names, these will then be sent to all Gloucestershire members to vote.
Once the name has been decided then a new committee will be formed to take the Branch forward.
The list of new names will be sent out on Friday 13th June and the members will have two weeks to vote on their favourite.
If you have not received this communication as a branch member, you may have opted-out from receiving e-mails from the branch. CAMRA requires members to opt-in via the CAMRA members website, where you can also choose to receive communications from other branches as well.
